| Notes: | Originally titled 'Mbube' (= lion) by Solomon Linda. The title 'Wimoweh', a phonetic transcription of the Zulu chant, was given when it was transcribed for Pete Seeger's group, The Weavers. The Weavers' recording credited the song to 'Paul Campbell' (which was a pseudonyum for the group). The English version by George Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore was written and released in 1961 |
