British born composer and choir director who emigrated to New Zealand in 1958 to become Director of Music for Auckland Cathedral, as well as Lecturer in Music at Auckland University. He later became Professor of Music (1974-1982). In 1978, Peter was invited back to Cambridge as Acting Director of Music/choir of King's College Chapel for six months; thus he became the first person to have been chorister, choral scholar and Head of Music at King’s since the 15th Century.
